The YouTube program ‘Startup Morning Coffee,’ broadcast live daily at 8:40 AM on the ‘Jeon Hwa-sung’s CNTV’ channel, features CEO Jeon Hwa-sung directly introducing the core competencies and market potential of various startups. Through real-time viewer interaction, it is establishing itself as a useful information platform for those interested in the startup ecosystem. In a recent broadcast, ‘Wintro,’ an innovative company poised to solve chronic problems in the webtoon industry, was featured.
Wintro is a startup that developed an AI-technology-based drawing tool to dramatically reduce the burden of manual work and long hours, which were inevitable in the traditional webtoon production process. Its core competency is to learn a webtoon artist's unique art style and automatically generate webtoon scenes containing desired content. In the rapidly growing webtoon industry, currently valued at 1.829 trillion KRW, increasing webtoon productivity to keep pace with the market's explosive growth has emerged as a crucial topic. Against this backdrop, Wintro is accelerating its technological advancement by participating in CNT Tech's ‘Re-challenge Success Package Support Program.’
Wintro's solution works by having artists register their art style data, which the AI then learns through machine learning. It can generate webtoon scenes incorporating various elements such as characters, backgrounds, props, and line effects, reflecting the learned art style. A key point of Wintro's technology is its ability to allow artists to create detailed scene compositions by setting specific guidelines for elements like composition shots, character poses, expressions, size, angle, brightness, and saturation. This enables artists to focus more on the essence of creation, freeing them from repetitive and time-consuming tasks.
CEO Jeon Hwa-sung pointed out that “the existing webtoon production market causes many creators to struggle due to high-intensity labor and poor income issues,” and evaluated that Wintro will make a significant contribution to solving these problems. He added that of the three core competencies of a webtoon artist – drawing, directing, and storytelling – Wintro dramatically improves artist productivity by automating and supporting scene production processes such as line art initial sketching, pen touching, coloring, and post-production finishing.
Meanwhile, CNT Tech, which supports Wintro, is currently recruiting participating companies as the managing organization for the ‘Strong Small Business Support Program Global Type’ for small business owners and startups. CEO Jeon Hwa-sung expressed his hope that startup founders can gain not only business funding but also opportunities for overseas expansion through this program, urging widespread interest and participation.
