Gyeonggi Creative Innovation Center to Host Northern Gyeonggi Startup 815 IR

The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (GCCEI) has officially launched its efforts to vitalize the startup ecosystem in the northern region, using the Gyeonggi Northern Office (Goyang CIC), which is set to open in November, as its base. The 'Gyeonggi Northern Region Startup 815 IR' event, recently held in Goyang City, was the first step in these efforts. GCCEI's flagship IR program, named after the iconic address of the Pangyo Startup Zone, moved its stage to northern Gyeonggi this time, where 15 promising startups recommended by local related organizations and universities showcased enthusiastic pitches in front of investors. For companies in the northern region, which had relatively lacked opportunities for investment attraction and pitching, this event was evaluated as a significant occasion that laid the foundation for growth. This clearly confirmed the importance of the Gyeonggi Northern Office playing a key role in the local startup ecosystem through regular accelerating programs in the future. Kim Won-kyung, CEO of GCCEI, told the participating companies, organizations, and experts, "The future of the local economy is not illuminated by 1% of geniuses, but by all of you who cooperate together, including startups," and emphasized the importance of accelerating for a robust startup ecosystem. Starting with this IR event, GCCEI plans to regularly operate a variety of startup support programs in the northern region, centered around the Gyeonggi Northern Office. These programs will include business commercialization support, investment attraction, professional mentoring, collaboration with large corporations (PoC), and global expansion. Furthermore, by strengthening close cooperation with local related organizations, it revealed its ambition to firmly establish northern Gyeonggi as a hub for innovative startups.
