Gyeonggi CCEI Launches Tailored Acceleration for Climate Tech Startups
Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (hereinafter Gyeonggi CCEI) is gaining attention as it partners with Gyeonggi Province to lay a practical foundation for the growth of climate tech startups. To enable promising companies in the climate tech sector, which is emerging as a future growth engine, to realize innovative ideas and expand into the global market, the 'Climate Tech In-Depth Networking' event was successfully held as part of a customized accelerating program. This networking event goes beyond a simple meeting. A total of 16 companies from the 1st and 2nd cohorts selected for the 'Gyeonggi Climate Tech Startup Incubation Project' participated, making it an opportunity to directly seek in-depth advice from experts covering all stages of corporate growth, from investment attraction to cooperation with large and medium-sized enterprises, successful overseas expansion, and acquiring domestic and international patents for core technology protection. At the event, various climate tech startups such as Fineco, Dfone, and Trashbusters showcased their unique technological prowess and sustainable business models. In particular, Rebeco E&C, a Gyeonggi CCEI investee company, garnered significant attention by thoroughly exploring global expansion strategies and the potential for follow-up investment attraction through meetups with major investors like NH Investment & Securities. Other participating companies also found practical breakthroughs by receiving customized consulting on technology advancement strategies and effective market entry strategies. On site that day, key players in the climate tech ecosystem were all present, including leading investment firms like Samchully Investment and SparkLabs, as well as representative large domestic corporations such as SK ecoplant and Hoban Construction, and specialized legal institutions like Dodam Patent & Law Firm. They generously shared their expertise and know-how, resolving challenges faced by startups, and furthermore, had a constructive time actively exploring potential cooperation and partnership opportunities. A Gyeonggi CCEI official emphasized the significance of this networking event, stating it was a "differentiated program where startups could directly ask about their needs and receive practical advice on the spot." The center plans to continue operating diverse and effective support programs to lead the healthy expansion of the climate tech industry ecosystem. This is expected to play a crucial role not just in fostering companies, but in creating a sustainable future essential in an era of climate crisis.
