Weidiansangsan, the operator of Korea's leading delivery app Yogiyo, successfully held a commemorative ceremony on the 18th to celebrate its 14th anniversary, sharing its remarkable achievements to date and its aspirations for the future.
The event, held at their Gangnam headquarters in Seoul, was attended by all executives and employees, including co-CEOs Kwon Tae-seop and Cho Hyung-kwon. It unfolded under the theme, "Weidiansangsan's 14th Anniversary: Stronger Together for the Time We've Shared." It was a meaningful time to look back on the past 14 years and collectively explore the path forward.
Weidiansangsan, which first entered the delivery market with the launch of the delivery app 'Yogiyo' in 2012, has since undergone continuous innovation. In 2019, it expanded its delivery scope by introducing a 'convenience store and supermarket grocery shopping service,' and in 2021, it diversified the user experience by unveiling an environmentally conscious 'reusable container service' and 'Yogipass,' a subscription service designed to boost customer satisfaction.
Notably, in September last year, the company expanded its autonomous robot delivery service, starting in Songdo and extending to the Gangnam area of Seoul, thereby leading future delivery technology. Furthermore, it has not neglected efforts for mutual growth with restaurants. The 'Yogiyo Lite' pricing plan, introduced last year, promotes co-growth with partner businesses by lowering commission rates by up to 4.7% based on store sales performance.
As a result of these 14 years of effort and innovation, Yogiyo has achieved astonishing records of approximately 1 billion cumulative orders and 20 trillion won in cumulative restaurant sales, cementing its position as a key player in the domestic delivery market.
CEO Kwon Tae-seop delivered a message of encouragement, stating, "Although the recent delivery market environment is not easy, as we have held our position for better service over the past 14 years, let all employees work together to ensure we remain a sustainable platform in the future." Following this, CEO Cho Hyung-kwon unveiled his vision, stating, "Building on the experience accumulated with the goal of providing the most convenient and enjoyable experience of encountering food, we will continue to pursue growth that benefits customers, partners, and society alike," thereby raising expectations for Weidiansangsan's next chapter.
