AI entertainment tech leader Galaxy Corporation has achieved the dazzling pinnacle of becoming a 'unicorn company' in just 6 years since its founding. CEO Choi Yong-ho officially announced this remarkable achievement during his keynote speech at the global startup event 'COMEUP 2025' on the 10th, drawing significant attention by presenting an innovative future vision: K-pop robot idols.
The company, which started in 2019 with a mere 1 million won in capital, has attracted a total of 180 billion won in common stock investments from 31 investment institutions to date, proving its unstoppable growth. Its financial performance is also remarkable. In the first half of this year alone, it recorded 123 billion won in sales and 13 billion won in net profit, achieving a successful turnaround to profitability. With over 250 billion won in sales expected in the second half, the achievement of its annual target is certain.
CEO Choi Yong-ho emphasized that today's achievements are the result of 14 years of continuous, relentless challenges, alongside 8 founding members who have been with him since 2011. During that time, Galaxy Corporation has widely developed entertainment tech businesses that converge IP (intellectual property) and cutting-edge technology, including Netflix's 'Physical: 100 Season 2', the KAIST Space Sound Project, Microsoft AI music video production, and G-Dragon's World Tour, leading the industry.
The pinnacle of the future vision presented by CEO Choi that day was none other than 'K-pop Robot Idols (humanoids)'. Under the bold ambition to usher in an era of hyper-converged entertainment tech where real idols, virtual idols, and robot idols harmonize, an idol humanoid robot actually appeared at the event, perfectly demonstrating the choreography for G-Dragon's new song 'POWER' and eliciting admiration.
CEO Choi Yong-ho stated, "Becoming a unicorn company is by no means an end, but a new starting point." He expressed his strong determination, adding, "We will not forget the beginner's mindset of a startup and will continuously challenge ourselves to fuse technology and content that are close to impossible, thereby expanding the horizons of future entertainment."
