Four leading domestic companies in the medical artificial intelligence (AI) field have joined hands, signaling the dawn of a new era. JLK, VUNO, Selvas AI, and Mediana recently held the launch ceremony for the 'Medical AI Strategic Alliance' (MASA) in Seoul, officially forming a strong strategic alliance for the joint research and commercialization of medical AI technology.
This alliance harbors ambitious goals to further strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic medical AI industry and accelerate its entry into the global market. The participating companies plan to consolidate their core competencies to pursue comprehensive cooperation, including: ▲joint research and commercialization of AI medical technology ▲discovery of innovative new services and business models ▲securing real-world data from partner hospitals and advancing AI models ▲expanding overseas ventures and collaboration with global medical institutions ▲integrated sales and marketing.
The expertise of each company maximizes synergy.
* **JLK** develops AI diagnostic and predictive solutions through convergence research connecting the brain and heart, with a focus on stroke, and applies them to the global market.
* **Mediana** supports the linkage of medical devices such as patient monitors with AI solutions and the establishment of an integrated medical data platform, leading commercialization by integrating developed AI models into its own medical devices.
* **VUNO** focuses on establishing an integrated monitoring environment based on patient vital signs within hospitals and advancing AI technology for cardiac arrest prediction and early detection of heart diseases.
* **Selvas AI** provides AI medical speech recognition technology solutions, supports joint sales for the four companies, and engages in R&D for AI-based medical prediction and diagnostic assistance technologies.
Starting with this agreement, the Medical AI Alliance plans to maintain a close collaborative relationship for the next three years, gradually expanding research and development and business cooperation. Furthermore, it aims to seek additional partnerships and further expand its influence in the global market through collaboration with international medical institutions and regulatory responses.
Kim Dong-min, CEO of JLK, strongly expressed the intention to lead the medical AI market through the combined capabilities of the four companies, stating, "It is highly significant for domestic AI medical companies to join forces and jointly pursue technology development and commercialization, as it enhances the competitiveness of the entire industry." This alliance is expected to become an important stepping stone that will open new horizons for the medical AI industry.
