Zordi, an innovative AI-robotics startup from Boston, USA, has formed a strategic partnership with Floatic, a leader in the South Korean robot automation market, to expand into the global market. This collaboration aims to combine each company's unique technological prowess and market dominance, accelerating robot automation innovation across various industrial sectors beyond agriculture. Zordi, which has received investment from the world-renowned venture capital firm Khosla Ventures, has established a unique position in the field of AI-robotics-based agricultural automation systems. Through its robotics foundation models and learning-based framework, it has achieved the remarkable feat of reducing labor costs by 80%, and has proven its technological capabilities by successfully commercializing strawberry harvesting robots in the New Jersey and New York regions. Notably, Zordi's differentiating factor is its innovative business model that simultaneously provides agricultural product production and robot automation by operating its own production facilities and partner farms. In the future, it plans to expand its business scope to include agricultural automation based on swarm mobile manipulators. Floatic, a leading South Korean robotics startup, is leading the market with its swarm autonomous mobile robot (AMR)-based warehouse automation solutions. It has achieved remarkable growth through collaborations with major domestic partners such as LogisALL, Hyundai Motor, and Techtaka, and has further enhanced its autonomous driving and robot control technologies through research collaboration with KAIST. It has attracted significant investments from companies like Naver, Kakao, and Hyundai Motor, gaining recognition for its technological prowess and market expansion potential, and has actively pursued entry into global markets such as the United States and Japan. Through this collaboration, Zordi will secure Floatic's proven technological capabilities and South Korean market network, enabling it to more robustly disseminate its AI-robotics automation solutions in the US and South Korean markets. Gilwoo Lee, CEO of Zordi, stated that the combination of Floatic's rapid growth and Zordi's AI and manipulation technologies will create significant synergy across various industries beyond agriculture, accelerating innovation in robot automation. Chan Lee, CEO of Floatic, also expressed confidence that Zordi's pioneering AI-robotics technology and Floatic's logistics automation solutions and network will generate immediate synergy, and looked forward to a successful collaboration between the two companies.
