EightTech Awarded Science Minister's Commendation for AI Waste Sorting Technology

AITech, Leader in Resource Circulation Innovation, Wins Minister's Commendation at ICT Fund Next Awards! AITech, drawing attention as a game-changer in the circular economy market, was recognized for its innovative technology and social contribution, having the honor of receiving the Minister of Science and ICT's Commendation at the '2025 ICT Fund Next Awards'. This is the fruit of efforts to advance waste sorting technology combining artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, leveraging the support of the Ministry of Science and ICT's ICT Fund. AITech was evaluated as having greatly contributed to the digital transformation of the resource circulation industry with this technology. AITech is implementing innovative automation in waste treatment processes, bringing a new wave to the resource circulation ecosystem. In particular, the AI-based waste sorting robot 'AITRON', with over 20 units successfully installed and operating in private and public sorting facilities nationwide, is leading the automation of actual waste treatment sites. Along with this, with unique solutions such as the automated resource circulation platform 'i-mrf' and the integrated smart unit for waste sorting 'Multitron', it is maximizing the efficiency of resource circulation systems. AITech's technology is shining not only domestically but also on the international stage. Winning a bronze medal at the '2025 Edison Awards' and achieving the feat of being the first Korean recipient of the '2024 WIPO Global Awards', it has garnered global attention. Currently, it is actively pursuing entry into overseas markets such as Vietnam, Singapore, and Australia, accelerating its global expansion. An AITech official described this award as "highly meaningful in terms of contributing to the creation of social value through technological innovation," and expressed their ambition to "further dedicate ourselves to technology development and global dissemination for the creation of a sustainable resource circulation ecosystem."
