Startup AETECH, which leads innovation in AI-based waste sorting technology, has been named one of 'Forbes Asia 100 to Watch' for 2025, drawing global attention. This is Forbes Asia's prestigious annual list that selects 100 promising small businesses and startups across Asia. AETECH's selection is particularly significant this year, as Forbes emphasized that artificial intelligence and greentech are driving the growth of the Asian startup ecosystem.
Among companies from a total of 16 countries, only 8 Korean companies were selected, and AETECH was recognized for its technological prowess and potential in the energy and greentech sector. AETECH boasts proprietary technology that infuses innovative automation into the waste management industry. Cutting-edge systems such as the AI-based waste sorting robot 'atron', the automated resource recovery facility 'airo-mrf', and the mobility-type small waste management solution 'multi-tron' play a key role in reproducing discarded resources and building a sustainable circular economy.
In particular, the AI-based sorting robot 'atron' has already proven its effectiveness with over 20 units successfully installed and operating in public and private sorting facilities nationwide. Building on this success, the company is actively pursuing expansion into overseas markets such as Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Germany, preparing for a leap onto the global stage.
Park Tae-hyung, CEO of AETECH, described the Forbes Asia selection as "a great achievement that internationally recognizes our technology and marketability," and boldly stated his ambition to "firmly establish ourselves as a global leader in the resource circulation sector based on AI and robotics." AETECH's innovative technology is expected to change the paradigm of waste management and accelerate a sustainable future.
