As the prelude to the global AI agent era unfolds, three South Korean companies have emerged as key players to lead this massive trend. They have proudly secured a spot in the '135 Promising AI Agent Technology Stack Companies' report selected by global market analysis firm CB Insights, which vividly demonstrates the global competitiveness and future growth potential of domestic AI technology.
CB Insights, after a rigorous selection process based on a multifaceted mosaic score and quantitative indicators including financial soundness, innovation capabilities, market response, and investment attraction, recognized Dinotisia, Vesl AI, and Upstage for their technological prowess on the global stage.
First, Dinotisia has demonstrated its competitiveness in the 'vector database' field, which is essential for AI agents to grasp 'context'. This technology, which helps to accurately understand and respond to users' complex query intentions, has received excellent evaluations for its precision and scalability in information retrieval.
Vesl AI has distinguished itself in the core area of 'model deployment and serving' within the 'AI foundation model and infrastructure' domain. Providing the necessary infrastructure to implement large language models (LLM) into actual services, it is even mentioned as a major global player alongside American companies like Databricks and Modal.
Upstage was selected for its 'LLM data preparation platform' in the 'context' domain. This platform, which helps AI agents effectively learn from and utilize vast amounts of data, recently participated as the sole startup in the government's 'Independent AI Foundation Model' project, and achieved the remarkable feat of attracting 62 billion KRW in Series B investment from Amazon, AMD, and others, firmly laying the groundwork for its global leap.
CB Insights has identified 'efficient computing,' 'intelligent orchestration,' and 'developer-friendly abstraction' as key winning factors in the future AI infrastructure market. Along with the prospect that platforms offering these integrated elements will gain ultimate competitive advantage, attention is drawn to whether these selected domestic companies will become the protagonists that change the landscape of the upcoming AI agent era.
