Moments Company's skincare brand, beplain, recorded its highest-ever monthly sales of 8.18 billion KRW last May, achieving an astonishing 101% growth compared to the same month last year.
The key driver behind this explosive growth was undoubtedly the overseas market. Particularly in China and Vietnam, sales surged by nearly three times compared to the same month last year, driving performance. In China, marketing strategies centered around Tmall and Douyin, including Wanghong (influencer) live broadcasts and influencer collaborations, proved effective, significantly boosting sales of products like 'Cicatrerol Blemish Pad' and 'Mung Bean Pore Tight-up Soothing Cream'. In Vietnam, the sun cream line led the sales growth.
Thanks to such robust overseas sales, beplain's share of overseas sales significantly expanded from 35% in May last year to 51% in May this year, and it showed steady growth in emerging markets such as Northern Europe and Central Asia.
In the domestic market, the company continued its growth by successfully diversifying its distribution channels through platforms like Musinsa and Traders. Notably, beplain's steady-seller, 'Mung Bean pH-Balanced Cleansing Foam,' surpassed 10 million units in cumulative sales, achieving a remarkable feat.
beplain has showcased diverse lineups, including Mung Bean, Cicatrerol, and Sunmuse, in over 20 countries, proving its global competitiveness based on solid product strength. Jeong Yoon-jin, CEO of Moments Company, stated that building upon these achievements, the company plans to further accelerate its expansion in key markets such as the United States, Japan, and Europe.
