AMIST, 'Ultra-Gap Startup' Leading Future Mobility Innovation, Final Selection in Eco-Friendly Sector... Solidifying Technological Leadership
AMIST has been finally selected in the 'Eco-friendly' sector of the '2025 Ultra-Gap Startup 1000+' project, organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, once again proving its technological prowess and market potential in high-strength adhesive materials for mobility structures. This is a key national project to discover and nurture promising startups in 10 future strategic sectors that will lead South Korea's future industries, including system semiconductors, bio-health, and future mobility.
AMIST's selection is thanks to its unique high-strength adhesive material technology for mobility structures, which integrates bio and carbon dioxide chemical conversion technologies. Overcoming the limitations where existing eco-friendly biomaterials struggled with market entry due to weak physical properties and high prices, AMIST developed high-performance biomaterials that achieve physical properties equivalent to or superior to petrochemical materials while also offering price competitiveness, earning high acclaim. This is drawing attention as an innovative solution that can replace or reinforce welding in the formation of automotive structures.
Furthermore, in line with the era of carbon neutrality, AMIST is developing synthetic resins based on carbon dioxide chemical conversion materials as part of its CCU (Carbon Capture and Utilization) technology, focusing on developing eco-friendly chemical materials that directly contribute to carbon reduction. Through this, AMIST is expected to play an essential role in a market where global carbon neutrality policies are accelerating.
Through this project selection, AMIST will receive a total of 1.1 billion won in direct funding over the next three years, including up to 600 million won for commercialization and up to 500 million won for R&D following a separate evaluation. Additionally, it will receive support through various growth programs such as global investment attraction, technology advancement, and collaboration with large corporations. As a government policy-preferred company, AMIST has secured opportunities for explosive growth through additional linked support, including up to 10 billion won in low-interest funding.
Established in June 2021, AMIST, despite its short history, has built production bases and infrastructure, possessing independent execution capabilities from R&D to mass production, quality control, and delivery to clients. It has already successfully responded to joint development and supply with major domestic and medium-sized enterprises and global clients, proving its technological capabilities.
Hwang Jong-won, CEO of AMIST, emphasized, "This selection as an Ultra-Gap Startup is a significant result that nationally recognizes AMIST's eco-friendly chemical material technology," and stated, "We plan to complete the development of high-strength, high-performance eco-friendly materials in the mobility sector and commercialize them within the next three years." He also expressed his ambition, "Beyond mobility, we will bring innovation to the market by expanding into all industrial application fields such as semiconductors & electronic materials, displays, construction & civil engineering, and shipbuilding & marine, replacing petrochemical-based synthetic resins in the adhesives, paints, and coatings markets with AMIST's eco-friendly materials." AMIST's journey as a leader in chemical material innovation for a sustainable future is highly anticipated.
