AgTech startup AgUni announced a major paradigm shift in agriculture with the completion of its next-generation agricultural platform, 'AgDome'. Unveiled on the 22nd at AgDome Valley in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, the 5,000-pyeong (approx. 16,500 square meters) AgDome goes beyond a simple smart farm, presenting a vision for a new agricultural ecosystem that connects data, industry, finance, and even the carbon market.
CEO Kwon Mi-jin emphasized that AgDome will be a key driving force in the future agricultural structure, connecting 'production-data-finance-carbon market'. AgDome boasts a double-membrane, pillarless, positive-pressure sealed structure that completely blocks external climate and pests. It is an agricultural smart factory that precisely controls all environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, and vapor pressure deficit (VPD) through BEMS (Building Energy Management System) and high-resolution sensors. In particular, the nursery applying a 'chevron design' and the 'Algro Conveyor System,' which allows for independent module operation, maximize energy efficiency and growth uniformity beyond mere process automation. Each pot is assigned a unique identification number, allowing the AI control algorithm to integrate and control environmental data in real-time. This system, linked with a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)-based airflow control system, creates an optimal cultivation environment.
At this event, AgUni unveiled 'Digital Farming Rights (DFR)', an innovative concept that assetizes agricultural data. DFR, which has already garnered attention on international stages such as APEC, utilizes blockchain technology to transparently record the entire process from production to harvest and settlement, and encrypts key data to ensure reliability. This 'RWA+' (Real-World Asset) model, which enables profit distribution and even real-world asset verification, is expected to usher in a new era of trading and verifying agricultural production rights as digital assets.
Furthermore, AgUni announced its entry into the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM), presenting a new standard for agricultural carbon data. AgDome measures all energy and resource usage data in real-time, establishing an MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) system, thereby creating a foundation for generating highly reliable carbon credits.
CEO Kwon Mi-jin stated, "AgDome is a living system that continuously evolves by learning from data," adding, "All data produced here will become the standard for the agricultural industry and a new language connecting future health, carbon, and finance." Moving forward, AgUni plans to lead future agriculture through various R&D efforts, including functional crop data-based CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) business and AI growth prediction model development.
