AES Tech (pronounced A-E-S Tech), a startup leading next-generation hydrogen production technology, has been selected for the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund's (KODIT) innovative startup growth support program 'Pre-ICON', granting it substantial backing in the form of 3 billion won in guarantee support over three years.
Pre-ICON, which rigorously vets and selects companies in their growth stage (2-10 years since founding) based on their technological capabilities and growth potential, is a significant achievement following its selection as a 'First Penguin' in 2022, proving that AES Tech is successfully progressing through KODIT's systematic startup development track.
Amidst the global trend of expanding the hydrogen economy through ammonia, which has a well-established infrastructure worldwide, AES Tech is recognized as a 'game changer' that will enable decentralized and high-purity hydrogen supply. Its independently developed 'ammoNOVA' system boasts innovative features such as rapid startup, real-time hydrogen purity control, a water-free and NOx-free eco-friendly structure, and excellent modular scalability, overcoming the inherent limitations of conventional hydrogen production methods and opening new horizons in the hydrogen industry.
With a concrete roadmap to complete a 10Nm³/h-class commercial prototype in 2025 and develop a 50Nm³/h-class commercial module in 2027, global collaborations with the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and De Nora R&D Center, a specialized electrode company, further enhance the potential for technology verification and commercialization.
Having expanded its stable foundation for R&D and commercialization with this Pre-ICON selection, AES Tech is determined to proceed smoothly with its planned roadmap and secure a unique competitive advantage in the upcoming hydrogen economy era.
