Yu Jong-pil Inaugurated as New President of Startup Promotion Institute

Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development Opens a New Chapter for Innovative Growth with the Inauguration of its 6th President, Yoo Jong-pil On the 28th, the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) held an inauguration ceremony for its 6th new President, Yoo Jong-pil, at the 1st floor conference hall of its Sejong headquarters, declaring a new vision for the development of the Republic of Korea's startup ecosystem. The ceremony, which lasted approximately 20 minutes, included President Yoo's inaugural address and was arranged as his first meeting with employees, drawing anticipation. Through his inaugural address, the new President Yoo Jong-pil stated, "I feel a profound sense of responsibility and mission in leading KISED, which represents startups, the core driving force of innovation and job creation," expressing his strong will as a new leader. He particularly emphasized his ambition, stating, "We will complete the government's startup policies through a re-leap as a field-oriented policy implementation institution," foreshadowing strong momentum towards practical startup support and outcome creation. Through this inauguration, President Yoo officially began his term as the President of KISED. He is a veteran leader who has accumulated extensive administrative experience and policy implementation capabilities, having served in key positions such as Gwanak-gu District Mayor (Grade 1), National Assembly Library Director (Vice-Ministerial level), and Presidential Secretariat (Grade 2). His rich experience is expected to be a great asset in setting the direction and execution for KISED. KISED, established based on Article 51 of the Small and Medium Enterprise Startup Act, is a specialized institution that has pursued diverse projects for the creation of a startup ecosystem, including startup policy research, commercialization support, and expansion of the base. Under President Yoo's leadership, KISED is expected to build a more robust and dynamic startup ecosystem and strengthen its pivotal role in supporting the growth of innovative startup companies.
