8 Honam & Jeju Organizations Launch Integrated Startup Investment Camp
Jeju, Gwangju, Jeonnam Startups Forge Connections with Capital Area Investors Eight organizations, including the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as Jeju Center), joined forces to successfully host the ‘2025 Gwangju-Jeonnam-Jeju Startup Integrated IR Camp’ from the 11th to the 12th at Mokpo Gourmet Culture Gallery Haegwan 1897. This event, planned to enhance investment accessibility for local startups within a venture investment environment centered on the Seoul metropolitan area, served as an important opportunity to revitalize the startup ecosystem in the southern region. The camp saw over 100 participants, including more than 30 investment firms operating local investment venture funds, 44 local startups, and representatives from startup support organizations, adding to the enthusiastic atmosphere. Notably, LinkX AI (CEO Hwang Yong-gyun) and Flylens (CEO Lee Sang-hyun), both selected for the Jeju Center's preliminary startup package, presented their corporate visions through IR pitching and 1:1 meetups, exploring possibilities for follow-up investment. Hydrolide (CEO Kim Sang-jae) and IDKYU Lab (CEO Choi Jae-heung) also shared their technological competitiveness and market expansion strategies during the meetup sessions. On the first day, participants sought practical feedback and collaboration opportunities through in-depth 1:1 meetup consultations with pre-matched investors, followed by an intense IR pitching competition, IR presentations by LIKORN companies, and a special lecture on 'Understanding Investment Contracts'. The second day featured the IR pitching competition awards ceremony (1 Minister's Award from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, 3 awards from the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional SMEs and Startups Office) and a signing ceremony for Letters of Intent for Investment, along with a practical special lecture titled 'Investment Attraction Strategies Directly Taught by VCs,' which received an enthusiastic response from participants. Lee Byung-sun, head of the Jeju Center, emphasized that this integrated IR camp will serve as an important stepping stone for startups in the southern region, including Jeju, to communicate directly with Seoul-area VCs and maximize investment attraction opportunities, adding that the center will continue to strive for the expansion of region-based public-private investment networks.
