42dot-Shinsegae to Develop Hwaseong Smart City

Hwaseong Starbay City presented a blueprint for a future city, announcing an innovative meeting between 42dot and Shinsegae Property. The two companies went beyond mere technological implementation, prioritizing 'user-centric' values, and joined hands to develop an integrated smart city solution. 42dot CEO Song Chang-hyun stated his ambition to open an era of commercialization for smart city solutions based on the company's unique technology and data capabilities, and Shinsegae Group President Lim Young-rok emphasized that autonomous driving mobility will bring an innovative paradigm across citizens' entire lifestyles. On the vast 4,189,000 square meter site of Starbay City, the grand goal is to establish cutting-edge infrastructure, intelligent mobility, and control systems, setting a new milestone for smart cities in Korea. 42dot, leveraging its self-developed integrated vehicle-hailing platform, will be responsible for everything from real-time traffic flow analysis and optimal route setting to robo-taxi dispatch. Furthermore, through an intelligent control system, they plan to automatically deliver tourists' luggage or shopping items, and implement imagined future services such as operating golf course carts autonomously, making them a reality. Shinsegae Property will meticulously analyze the movement patterns of the floating population within Starbay City to optimize service operation sites, including autonomous driving routes, and establish a solution operating environment. They will also play a role in maximizing citizen convenience by developing mobility products through linkage with nearby tourist complexes. The two companies aim to open Starbay City in 2029, and plan to establish a master plan within this year and continuously expand their scope of cooperation.
