The fervent challenge of Korean startups aiming for the global stage has borne brilliant fruit in San Francisco, USA! Four participating companies from the 3rd cohort of 'CJ GLO!VentUs', a global startup acceleration program jointly operated by Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation and CJ, have successfully completed their intensive local program and returned.
The 'Immersion Week', held from September 15th to 17th, saw the participation of four carefully selected companies: Medi I Plus (AI medical data platform), Second Team (global developer matching), S.L.Z (construction XR·AI solution), and Hyan Mind (in-app marketing solution). These companies were selected for their outstanding performance after an 8-week tailored customer discovery process for the US market, out of a total of eight participating companies.
In this program, operated in collaboration with Silicon Valley accelerator Alchemist, companies learned US market entry strategies through pre-arranged 1:1 mentoring and held intensive business meetings with potential partners on-site. Notably, at the Showcase held on the final day, over 30 local investors and global corporate representatives attended to listen to the four companies' innovative pitches, extending warm praise for the exceptional technology and global expansion potential of the Korean startups.
Jung Ji-hee, CEO of Medi I Plus, stated, "Currently, over 40% of our contract targets are North American partners," adding that this local visit was "a valuable opportunity to directly meet with key Silicon Valley networks, discuss specific partnerships, and secure strategic connections for future business expansion."
Kim Won-kyung, CEO of Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, evaluated that through collaboration with CJ, they "established a differentiated global accelerating model combining systematic prior preparation and customized execution." Kim Do-han, CEO of CJ Investment, stated that "the active efforts of the participating companies served as an opportunity to strengthen US local partnerships," and promised continued support for the global growth of startups.
Now it's time to share those brilliant achievements! The CJ GLO!VentUs 3rd cohort performance sharing event 'OnStage' will be held on September 30th at 2 PM at Pangyo Startup Zone. This event will not only share the business status and program outcomes of the participating companies but also feature a special panel talk titled 'Conditions for Startups to Succeed Abroad' with global VCs. We encourage your strong interest and participation.
