Smart device recommerce platform 21st Century Jeonpalsang has revolutionized the used phone market by unveiling its AI and deep learning-based automated inspection system, '21st Century Inspection Center 2.0'. This system inspects 22 items, including battery and camera, with 97% accuracy in just one minute, shortening inspection time by over 70% compared to manual processes and boasting a processing capacity of 100,000 units per month. By standardizing previously subjective quality assessments to the level of manufactured goods, it provides high reliability to both consumers and businesses. For devices that have undergone inspection, it issues a quality report and data deletion certification, which has increased device value by an average of 1.86 times. This technological innovation boosted Q1 2025 revenue to 550 million KRW, an increase of over 316% compared to the same period last year, leading to explosive growth, achieving a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of over 90% and a customer repurchase rate of 58%. By integrating its API with domestic used phone export partners, the company has secured large inventories and is expanding its global market share by supplying competitive Korean-made used Galaxy phones to the Indian and West African markets at 10-30% lower prices. Beyond mere growth, 21st Century Jeonpalsang is also leading the way in realizing a circular economy, creating environmental value by recycling approximately 12,000 units in Q1 2025, reducing electronic waste by 98%, and mitigating 1,200 tons of carbon emissions. CEO Park Young-jun evaluated this achievement of elevating the reliability of used phone transactions to the level of manufactured goods as a crucial turning point for resource circulation. He stated that the company aims to replicate its platform in 5 global countries, export 100,000 units annually, and achieve 20 billion KRW in revenue by 2027, asserting that it will lead the quality standards of the Asian refurbished market. Furthermore, it plans to expand its inspection standards to tablets and laptops starting in the second half of this year.
