2 PM Lab Starts Developing Carbon Management Service for Gyeonggi Province Small Businesses
The barrier to entry for carbon management for individual businesses in Gyeonggi Province is expected to be significantly lowered. This is because climate tech specialist company Ohoodoosilab (오후두시랩) has won the contract to develop the individual business version of Gyeonggi Province's 'Gyeonggi Climate Management Service' and is set for an official launch in September. This innovative service focuses on helping 2.11 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Gyeonggi Province easily calculate and manage their carbon emissions without specialized knowledge. Until now, the 'Gyeonggi Climate Management Service' has been operated exclusively for corporate businesses, but with the introduction of this individual business version, the service's comprehensiveness will be greatly expanded. It is especially anticipated to be a practical solution for individual businesses that lack dedicated carbon management personnel or specialized knowledge. Ohoodoosilab is developing this individual business version based on its experience of successfully building carbon management services for corporate businesses in cooperation with Gyeonggi Province since last year. The newly introduced individual business version has been designed with user convenience as the top priority. From simple authentication and automatic data entry to automatic calculation of emissions by category and professional report generation, the entire process of carbon management is provided seamlessly. Moreover, thanks to Gyeonggi Province's support, all individual businesses will be able to use this valuable service for free, allowing them to participate in carbon management without any financial burden. This platform is built as a web-based SaaS (Software as a Service) solution, allowing access and use anytime, anywhere without separate installation. Furthermore, by applying big data and AI technologies, it is designed to enable non-experts to intuitively understand and manage carbon emissions, thereby realizing truly 'easy and convenient' carbon management. Although the existing service primarily targeted approximately 50,000 high-emission business sites, inquiries from individual businesses steadily increased, highlighting the need for service expansion. Therefore, this individual business version is evaluated as a result reflecting actual market demand. An Ohoodoosilab official emphasized, "Carbon management is no longer a task for specific large corporations but a fundamental responsibility and opportunity for all businesses," adding, "Through the expansion of services to include individual businesses, Gyeonggi Province will make a key contribution to achieving its carbon neutrality goals." Ohoodoosilab operates 'Greenflow,' an integrated platform that measures and manages carbon emissions for companies, products, cities, and individuals, thus leading the climate tech sector. This contract win with Gyeonggi Province will serve as an important stepping stone to strengthen cooperation with the public sector and realize the company's vision of spreading climate tech across society.
