Jeju, standing at the center of global innovative tourism! The Korea Startup Forum (KOSPO) is gathering anticipation by finally selecting 11 promising startups and 4 pre-startup teams to participate in 'COMEUP in Jeju,' which will be held in Jeju in September. 'COMEUP in Jeju,' which will unfold over two days from September 10th to 11th, is a global conference where over 100 people, including tourism investors, startups, and large and mid-sized enterprises from Korea, China, and Japan, gather in one place to broaden the horizons of the future tourism industry. This event, planned with the goal of expanding the main 'COMEUP 2025' event and strengthening overseas networks, is expected to create global business opportunities with Jeju as its stage. The list of selected startups, chosen through strict document screening and interviews conducted from July 14th to August 1st, includes 6 companies within Jeju (The Sound Bunker, Locally, Eat the Company, Jeclean, Peeter Peeter, Scene of Jeju) and 5 companies from outside Jeju (Deepingsource Inc., Maize, Outfit Lab, Uluru Inc., Tagby Company). As for the pre-startup teams, 4 teams — Gyeran Baguni (Memorial), Night Night, Overwhale, and Yona Jeju — have been selected and are receiving significant attention. The selected startups will have the opportunity to meet investors and potential partners through conference participation, business meetups, and the operation of promotional booths. Furthermore, they will enjoy exceptional benefits, including booth exhibitions and meetups at the future main COMEUP event, and even business trips to Japan and China. Pre-startup teams will be given opportunities for customized startup mentoring and business meetups, in addition to participating in the 'COMEUP in Jeju' program, which will lay the groundwork for their growth. At this event, representatives from global companies such as LINE Yahoo Z Venture Capital and Eland China EIV will participate as speakers, delivering insightful lectures. Based on business agreements with the Jeju Tourism Organization and Jeju Dream Tower Complex Resort, KOSPO plans to actively support the global expansion of tourism startups and strive to establish Jeju as a cradle of innovative tourism. Han Sang-woo, Chairman of the Korea Startup Forum, stated, "The tourism industry is a crucial bridge connecting regions and the world, and a field that offers infinite opportunities to startups." He further expressed his ambition, "We hope that 'COMEUP in Jeju' will serve as a starting point for tourism startups' global leap and a venue for creating synergy among ecosystems." The future of innovative tourism startups emerging in Jeju is highly anticipated.
